Wedding flowers – bought silk but now getting real, what kind?? where to buy?

I bought silk flowers but now with only a month to go til the wedding i am wanting to do real flowers, i was thinking that i could buy them at safeway or a QFC and do them myself… i took floral design in high school so im pretty familiar with putting bouquets together, my only thought is i dont know what flowers to use, i was thinking ivory roses and have my MOH do a smaller bouquet of ivory roses? What do you think? Thanks!

Do all silk flowers dye water when they're submerged?

I know red silk flowers make the water they’re submerged in pink or red if they’re in for an extended amount of time… what about green silk flowers or white?

I’m getting married in December and my colors are red and black, I am having difficulties finding silk black (also known as deep purple) calla lilies, it kills me to spend a lot of money on fresh flowers that will die the next day!!
If you are going to be rude about my choice of using silk flowers please dont post. I’m asking for information on where to find flowers not for you to judge about my choices.

It’s not going in an envelope, I’m talking full size artificial flowers. I’m doing some floristry for a wedding and haven’t done an awful lot of artificial flowers before, so I’m just wondering whether silk flowers and foam flowers are actually the same, given that they look very similar in the pictures.
